This year World Laughter Day falls on May 1st. In 1998, Dr. Madan Kataria created the day to help teach everyone the benefits of laughter. One of the things he believes is that “the inner spirit of laughter will help us to realize the deeper meaning of life.” Laughter is also known to decrease stress which causes many health problems, complicates and worsens illness, and – yes – it even affects our skin. So even if you don’t want to do anything organized, seek out laughter this month even if you don’t feel like it. You can read more about World Laughter Day at their website.

I have been saving all my odds and ends until now. Each clearance bag is filled with at least 1 pound of soaps. Most of the soaps will be unlabeled and each bag will have a variety of types and scents. The only requirement is that you don’t get to pick and choose.

A simple substitute for a peppermint cream is to use add a few drops of peppermint essential oil to a carrier oil. Jojoba oil, almond oil or other handy oil (even olive oil) make great carrier oils. Rub this onto your skin and you will feel instantly cooler. If peppermint creams help to relieve your pain, the oil should give you similar results. You can also add eucalyptus and rosemary essential oils for a more rounded blend.
Note: Never use straight essential oils, they need to be diluted in a carrier oil such as jojoba or almond oil. Some people can be sensitive to peppermint oil so do a patch test. Peppermint oils should be avoided if you are pregnant.
