Lots of things in summer can affect our skin: stress, heat, humidity, dehydration and sun are some of the main culprits. We all know summer basics – sun protection, fluids and plenty of rest.
You may also need to change a few things in your skin-care regime.
- You may need to wash your skin more frequently, i.e. go from 1 to 2 cleansings a day
- Switch to a stronger cleanser: use a mild handmade soap or soap and herbal blend.
- Change to a lighter moisturizer.
- If you are already using an herbal blend for a cleanser, you can use more astringent herbs. Lavender is a great herb for summer skin care.
