Handcrafted Soaps by Bonnie was established in 2007 out of a passion for making handcrafted soaps. The business has developed into much more than soaps as my knowledge has grown. I love experimenting with new products that are designed to be luxurious and functional. My background in chemistry has helped prepare me for the product development. My friends and family have the toughest job. They help me to test all of my new products. Secure in the knowledge that I have done my research, they get to reap all of the benefits.

As I grow older and hopefully wiser, I have learned from many experiences. These experiences have led me to a balanced approach to skin-care. My background in science allows me a unique perspective. Chemicals are the back bone of our world. We have been lucky enough to live in a world where chemicals have made our life easier. They have also been the source of illnesses, allergies and cancer. It is a daunting task to sort through all of the various information. There are both natural and manufactured chemicals that can be very harmful to our skin and both can be the source of allergies and even eczema. I prefer a more natural approach to skincare, but it takes a lot of research to use natural effects in a responsible way. I also enjoy many fragrances which simply can't be duplicated naturally. I take solace in knowing that synthetic chemicals in skincare have been extensively tested, usually more than natural chemicals. The end product is a long list of all-natural products with a few products that have minimal synthetic chemicals such as fragrance and color and preservatives only when necessary.
